The ever-imaginative little character, Simon, dreams of being the ringmaster of a circus. In a cardboard box he creates a circus with his animal friends, but his efforts to stage the show are frustrated. When he acts as lion tamer to a paper lion, a goat tries to eat the star attraction. When he tries to walk a tightrope, he is foiled by a flock of tame birds.
As usual his sensible friend, Marlene, comes to the rescue. Her common-sense advice saves the day and Simon creates a circus that will never be forgotten.

Simon books have won The Governor General’s Literary Award for Illustration and The Owl Prize in Japan; and were chosen for the prestigious Illustrators’ Exhibit in Bologna, Italy.
Gilles Tibo is one of Quebec’s most prolific artists and authors. His children’s books have won numerous awards, including the Governor General’s Literary Award and the Owl Award from Japan, and the artwork from Annabel Lee was accepted into the Bologna Children’s Book Fair Illustrators’ Exhibition. He also represented Canada for the 1998 Hans Christian Andersen Award. Gilles Tibo lives in Montreal.
