A retired wizard and his cat discover love in a most unexpected way!
Hector, a retired wizard, lives happily with his cat, Poison, in a dilapidated house at the edge of the forest. Hector and Poison are content to pass the time in front of the TV, munching cookies. Their days are peaceful and quiet. That is until a dreadful noise begins to pour out of the old abandoned house across the road. It seems Hector and Poison have a new neighbor, and things will never be the same again.

Mireille Levert studied drawing, painting, and sculpting at the University of Quebec in Montreal. One of her first jobs was in a small children's bookstore, where she discovered her love for illustration. She has since gone on to win the Governor General's Award for Illustration and has been nominated for the Marilyn Baillie Picture Book Award. Her other published titles include Tulip and Lupin Forever, Down at the Sea Hotel, Eddie Longpants, And Island in the Soup, and Sleep Tight Mrs. Ming. Her work has been exhibited in many countries, including France, Italy, and Japan. Mireille enjoys doing lots of presentations and workshops for children. She works and lives in Montreal, Québec.
Marie Lafrance was born in Quebec City. She studied graphic arts at a CEGEP in Vieux-Montréal and etching at Studio Graff. Marie has lived in San Francisco and New York, where she worked as a silk-screen printmaker for various galleries. She returned to Montreal to work as a freelance illustrator. Marie loves the diversity of her work, she has illustrated textbooks, magazines, books, and posters. Marie serves on the board of the Association des Illustrateurs et Illustratrices du Québec (AIIQ), where she is also a past-president. She has been nominated for many awards, including the prestigious Governor General’s Award for her illustration of Richardo Keens-Douglas’s La Diablesse and the Baby, which also received an Alcuin Society Design Award citation. Marie lives with her partner and their daughter, Béatrice.
